The Belfast Coffee Company

It is said that The Belfast Coffee Company “roasts the best small-batch coffee in Belfast.”

Traditional Belfast Coffee is a strong, full-flavoured coffee, which was the order of the day in the 1800s. Belfast Coffee continues this tradition by refining coffee blends to represent the modern Belfast taste profile. Under the shadows of the iconic Harland & Wolff yellow cranes, Belfast Coffee is expertly roasted to combine flavour, aroma and evoke memories with stories to be shared.

History of Belfast Coffee

Robert Allan, a Belfast shipwright, blended the coffee with traded spices to give a renowned flavour. Our process is still used today and is what makes our coffee taste so unique. When a family recipe spans four generations – you know it’s made of strong stuff.

The traditional taste of Belfast coffee is just as relevant today as it was in the early 1900s, proving that it is a taste rich in flavour with qualities transcending all ages. Today, flanked by the big yellow cranes, our coffee is still lovingly brewed in the old heart of industrial Belfast.

Traditional Belfast coffee is strong and full-flavoured, which was the order of the day in the 1900s where our story originates. Thousands of workers were employed by Harland and Wolff shipyard to build the grand ships – the most famous being the RMS Titanic of the White Star Line.
