Ulster Rugby’s Stewart Moore, David Shanahan, and Rob Herring at Kingspan Stadium to announce
Britvic NI as the Official Hydration and Sports Drink partner of Ulster Rugby, and the Soft Drinks partner for Kingspan Stadium.

The new deal will see Britvic NI fuel the Ulster Rugby squad at training and during games in the coming seasons. With Ballygowan looking after the hydration arm of the partnership, the team will use Energise Sport as their official sports drink.

Fast becoming Ireland’s most sustainable water brand, Ballygowan Ireland’s no. 1 natural mineral water has recently moved all its plastic bottles into bottles that are 100% recycled and 100% recyclable. Originating from rainfall drifting in from the Atlantic Ocean, which then falls on land close to Newcastle West in Limerick, it is filtered through mineral rich limestone over centuries and then it returns to the surface from a well, where it is bottled and enjoyed all over Ulster, and beyond.

As one of Ireland’s biggest sports drinks, with a strong market share in Northern Ireland, Energise Sport is already a firm favourite with the Ulster Rugby team and supporters alike, as well as the grassroots level of the game. Launched in 2003, the IRFU’s former Director of Fitness, Dr Liam Hennessy, played a role in the formulation of the drink, which is made up of an optimum balance of water, carbohydrates, and electrolytes to hydrate faster than water alone.

Kevin Donnelly, Managing Director, Britvic Ireland said:

“We are absolutely delighted and incredibly proud to be working with Ulster Rugby and we are really looking forward to the start of a great partnership.

“We believe the power and passion of Ulster Rugby coupled with our great brands opens up a really great opportunity to connect with people all across Ulster and build future success together.”

On the new partnership, Jonny Petrie, Ulster Rugby CEO, said:

“We are delighted that Britvic NI has come on-board as our Hydration, Sports and Soft Drinks partner, as their values as a brand closely align with what we want to achieve at Ulster Rugby.

“This is demonstrated in their passion for sustainability, exemplified by the recent investment in Ballygowan to make its bottles 100% recycled and fully recyclable, as well as holding the credentials for the only sports drink that is 100% produced in Ireland.

“Dan McFarland’s mantra of ‘Fight for Every Inch’ is well-known now in the club, and throughout the province, and with Britvic NI on-board as a partner, I am confident that they will play their part in helping the team to maximise its performance in the time ahead.”

Ballygowan and Energise Sport, which is available in 3 great flavours (Orange, Mixed Fruit & the newest addition, Fruit Punch), will be available for supporters to purchase at the Kingspan Stadium at upcoming fixtures.
