BELFAST.CO.UK is calling for all budding photographers to explore, discover and capture the beauty of Belfast in a photograph.
Launching on September 1st, the BELFAST.CO.UK photo competition encourages keen photographers to upload an original photo that they have taken in Belfast. Be that a photo of a favourite place, building or shop, a mesmerising sunset, a top-secret waterfall or a stunning view. For those who wish to capture a more personal sense of the city, you may submit a photograph of a famous (or not) Belfast character. It could be a snap of your favourite spot to enjoy chips on the beach, or more importantly, the best Sunday morning fry-up. Whatever Belfast means to you – it’s time to share it.
The photo contest is sponsored by Sawers Belfast, Business Aide and The Belfast Coffee Company.
Leanne Gouck from BELFAST.CO.UK said: “We are excited to launch the ‘My Belfast’ photo competition and hope it will inspire locals and visitors to explore and re-discover the beauty of Belfast. We’re asking people to get out their cameras, smartphones or devices and capture their Belfast – whether that be iconic landmarks, parks, businesses, arts, culture, people – or even food! Let’s share what we love most about the city.”
In addition to inspiring people to share their experiences of Belfast, the photo contest will help people become reacquainted with the post-lockdown city and provide a much-needed boost to local businesses and the economy.
Kieran Sawers from Sawers, Belfast said: “We are delighted to support the BELFAST.CO.UK September photo competition. Many businesses suffered and fell away during the pandemic, so the city streets look slightly different. We welcome this initiative by BELFAST.CO.UK that will encourage people to get back onto the high street, see what is there and support those local businesses in the process.”
The photo contest is open to amateur and professional photographers alike and will run from Wednesday, 1st September to Wednesday, 20th October 2021. Prizes for the winning photographs are donated by Sawers, Business Aide and The Belfast Coffee Company. Winners will be announced on Thursday, 21st October 2021.
