David Holmes

A legend of the Belfast music scene, award-winning DJ & Producer David Holmes has produced over seven albums and twenty-five movie soundtracks.

His career started in the early 90s, where he established himself as a cult hero and stalwart of the Belfast club scene with his ‘Sugar Sweet and ‘Shake Yer Brain’ nights at the Art College.

Since then, he has catapulted to global notoriety with Hollywood blockbuster soundtracks such as the Ocean’s trilogy and Out of Sight, and a long-standing collaboration with director Steven Soderbergh.

Holmes has been part of a few indie bands including (editor’s favourite) ‘David Holmes and the Free Association’, and most recently, was nominated for an Emmy Award for his work on ‘Killing Eve’. Holmes featured in the TV series with his band, ‘Unloved’.

He is a much-respected talent in the industry, with no shortage of artists knocking on his door requesting collaborations. Holmer has remixed music for the biggest names in the industry. He produced Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds third album and has remixed songs for Primal Scream, U2, Doves and Manic Street Preachers, to name but a few.

If that’s not enough to convince you that David Holmes represents all that is good about our city – how about this? Holmes wrote Orbital “Belfast” – which says it all! He is a true Belfast legend!
