Urban Market: CS Lewis Square, Belfast

The sun is shining and the weather is sweet! The Belfast.co.uk street team visited the Urban Market at C.S. Lewis Square on Saturday afternoon to sample the best of Belfast. Over 40 local makers, artisan producers and crafters were on hand to talk about their wonderful offerings, all adding to the authentic market vibe.

The urban food and craft market visits C.S. Lewis Square on the third Saturday of every month, from 1pm – 5pm and features fabulous personalities and producers such as Greenthumb HQ, Hearty Growers and the colourful characters behind Another World Belfast.

Greenthumb HQ produce a range of homemade chutneys, relishes, jams, spices, preserves and oils. All ingredients are home grown or locally sourced.

GreenThumbHQ was formed after friends & family kept requesting samples of the many goodies they had tasted as samples! For the last 5 years, GreenThumbHQ has been travelling around the Province selling goodies that they have grown in their garden & greenhouse and cooked in their very own kitchen. They source excellent local produce including the new locally produced Waggle Dance Honey. Their range of jams, preserves, chutneys & oils is extensive and ranges from deliciously sweet to fiendishly hot! For those partial to a tipple, GreenThumbHQ produce seasonal liqueurs which are available at different times throughout the year.

Operated by Terence and Judy Vaz, Hearty Growers cultivates small batches of gourmet mushrooms on their urban farm in east Belfast. They produce a mixed variety of Summer and Winter Oyster Mushrooms and have plans to offer Lions Mane, King Oysters, Trumpet Oysters, Pioppino, Nameko and Maitake as they ‘grow’!
