Yügo East
Yügo East is a vibrant dining experience delivering the highest standards of quality & freshness in its modern, innovative Asian fusion cuisine, with friendly, knowledgeable staff, and a frequently changing menu. We enjoyed the Tempura Monkfish with Devilled Tartar and the Spinach Futomaki with our Tropical Old Fashioned and Spice of Life cocktails. To start, the Scallop Ceviche was an explosion of apple & chilli freshness, and the earthiness of the Jerusalem Artichoke was perfectly complemented by a Hegarty’s cheese foam. This was followed by a wonderful umami Miso Aubergine, & a spicy, nut-crusted Massaman Halibut. And to finish, the Ginger Cake with pineapple & miso caramel, & the White Chocolate Mousse with blueberries & passion fruit, were a sweet conclusion to a delightful evening of fine dining.

Made In Belfast has always been one of our favourite Cathedral Quarter spots with its relaxed vibe, quirky shabby chic interior, and bistro-style menu championing local, sustainable produce. To start, we enjoyed the spicy Vegan Tofu Scallops with Kimchi & Pickled Cucumber. Our main courses included a smoky, perfectly flaky Poached Cod with fondant potatoes & crispy egg, and a Curried Cauliflower Steak with raisins and the most amazing “dirty rice” we’d ever eaten, & the desserts, a citrussy Pineapple, Lime Coconut and Feta cheesecake, & sweet Yorkshire Pudding Profiteroles with horseradish, hazelnuts and salted caramel, were delicious.
Moon Gelato/Bell Lane
Locally made in Moira by chef Aaron Heasley, inspired by his studies at Carpigiani Gelato University in Bologna, & using genuine artisanal techniques, these wonderful gelati are available at Common Market in Belfast. Although we find it difficult to pick a favourite, the “Pistachio” which has a subtle nuttiness & a silky smooth texture, is terrific, as is the “Lemon, Thyme & Mascarpone”.Delicious coffee from Bell Lane is also available; the “Moon Dust” espresso blend is well balanced with notes of brownies, brown sugar & green apple.
