With a focus on contemporary dining in a relaxed space, using only the best local ingredients, & an open kitchen providing a sense of theatre, The Muddlers Club truly deserves its Michelin star. The Tasting Menu with Wine Pairing is quite simply sublime. We’ll not go into detail, as surprise is all part of the experience, but the Scallop with White Bean was incredible, as was the Salsify with Truffle & Egg Yolk. And the Chocolate with Passion Fruit & Dulce de Leche was positively sinful.
Lottie is a very welcome “new kid on the block” in East Belfast, with something to suit all tastes, whether you’re popping in for a coffee & pastry, lunch with cocktails, or an evening meal, Lottie does it all with aplomb. We called in for lunch, & shared a top notch Irish Cheeseboard, a luxurious Langoustine Arnold Bennett, & a comforting Gnocchi with smoked haddock & leeks. Dessert was a creamy Custard Tart, & we finished the meal with a couple of perfectly crafted cocktails, a Revolution & an Espresso Martini.
Scott’s Crispy Onions
We were delighted to receive some samples of @scottscrispyonions to try. These storecupboard marvels are an incredibly versatile ingredient adding flavour and texture to many dishes from pasta to salads. Scott’s Crispy Onions come in 5 new flavours. We dry-fried the Smokey Bacon flavour (which is vegan friendly, by the way) and sprinkled the onions on our favourite veggie burger from the M&S Plant Kitchen range, topped with a runny fried egg & a hefty dollop of another recent favourite, Salsa Macha, a chilli & peanut delight from our local deli The Guillemot. A delicious vegetarian lunch.
