Flannels

A City Centre favourite of ours, the Flannels Café on the 2nd floor of Frasers is the perfect spot for a sophisticated lunch, glass of wine, or coffee & patisserie. We chose the stunningly good  “Seacuterie” Sharing Board with smoked salmon, mackerel pâté, prawns in garlic butter & samphire, with Guinness wheaten bread, & a creamy dill & horseradish sauce. Accompanying this, we had a zingy, fresh Asparagus, Feta & Pea Salad with toasted almonds & rocket. And if you’re in the mood for a sweet treat, we would recommend the rich Chocolate & Coconut Tart, or the luxurious Dime Bar Cheesecake.

The Crafty Vintner

The Crafty Vintner on the Lisburn Road is not only one of the most trusted specialist off license wine stores in Belfast, but the Tasting Room is home to  state-of-the-art wine dispensers offering a “self-serving” option available in three convenient sizes – 50ml, 125ml & 175ml.

Also, there are delicious dishes to enjoy whilst sampling from the choice of up to 32 rotating wines on offer. We chose from the small plates menu: some crispy calamari, spicy tofu popcorn with hot sauce, & smoky chilli prawns to accompany our wine choices of Alvarinho, Viura Rioja & Cairanne. The Crafty Vintner offers a unique & interactive way to taste wines from around the world.

Melter

Melter has just opened a new branch of its local cheese toastie outlets in Castlecourt serving up tasty treats and cracking coffee! With daily specials, tacos, soups, cheesy chips, vegan options & a wide selection of fillings, there’s something for everyone. The Chicken, Bacon & Sage Stuffing special was fantastic, with lots of oozy local cheese sandwiched between two generous chunks of Belfast Bakehouse sourdough. We also tried the sundried tomato option which was also terrific, especially with one of the many dips available for dunking; the peppercorn sauce was our favourite! And the cheese-pull? Legendary!
