Tzatziki

Offering a variety of dishes in Greek, Mediterranean, and BBQ styles, this relaxed, welcoming restaurant is located on Botanic Avenue, and the authentic menu features a range of starters, mains, & desserts which will soon get your mouth watering. We ordered the vegetarian Meze for two, featuring Tzatziki, Houmous, a phenomenally good Melizana Salata, minty Dolmades, with olives, feta & pita.

The Spanakopitakia were delicious cheesy filo parcels, & who can resist a Greek Salad, fragrant with oregano & peppery olive oil? But the star of the show was the whole Seabass, charcoal grilled, and presented beautifully on a circular wooden platter with rice & salad. For a great value feast of simple, authentic, healthy Greek favourites, drop into Tzatziki.

Tuk Tuk Asian Bistro

Featuring traditional dishes from across South East Asia, Tuk Tuk in Bangor has an interior which reflects the variety & authenticity of the menu. All ingredients are bought fresh daily & everything we tried was of a very high standard. The starter of Fresh Som Tam Salad had a terrific chilli heat & the Vietnamese Salmon Fish Cakes were packed full of flavour. To follow, the Thai Panang King Prawn Curry, fragrant with coconut milk, lime leaf, fish sauce, & basil, was delicious, & the Salt & Chilli Tofu, was a perfect vegetarian option. All served with Jasmine Rice, this was an outstanding culinary trip around Asia. We finished with some deep fried custard doughnuts with coconut ice cream which were just as good as they sound!

Comber Earlies

Ards & North Down festival runs from 18 June – 3 July highlighting the abundance of local produce from the area, with the Comber Earlies Food Festival on 25 June celebrating the unique authenticity of the PGI status of the Comber Early potato since 2012. Prized for their distinctive nutty flavour & smooth, soft skin, we prepare them simply; scrubbed, boiled, then a large knob of butter melted on top with a sprinkle of salt & a grind of black pepper. Delicious!
