Coco
Just behind City Hall in Belfast鈥檚 Linen Quarter, Coco is a stylish bistro featuring quirky artwork, a relaxed atmosphere, friendly service & delicious food. The Sunday menu is great value at 拢20.50 for two courses, & our highlights were the starters of Bao Bun with Southern Fried Chicken, the Seafood Risotto, & the Crab & Apple Cucumber Roll. For mains, the Roast Cod Fillet with cauliflower, & the Halibut with romanesco, courgette & wild garlic were outstandingly good seafood dishes. Coco also has a great selection of drinks and desserts, and the Apple & Berry Crumble with ice cream was comfort food at its best. And for a boozy alternative, the Banoffee Martini is a terrific dessert cocktail.
Molly鈥檚 Yard
Molly鈥檚 Yard, at the top of Botanic Avenue, has tables outside in a pretty mews courtyard & a main upstairs restaurant with a cool green interior. The lunchtime menu is small, but everything we ordered was very good indeed; the Potted Venison was a rich, generously portioned p芒t茅, the Gob贸ga: pearl barley arancini- style breaded balls with mushrooms & cheese were accompanied by a tangy pear chutney & a beetroot & ginger pur茅e, & the blue cheese & walnut stuffed Field Mushrooms were served with a dressed salad & garlic potatoes. To finish, the Gur Cake, like a rich fruity mince pie filling between thin flaky pastry, was drizzled with tea syrup & ice cream on the side.

Launched in 2016, Br贸鈥檚 aim was to provide a luxury coffee brand for convenience retailers & coffee shops across Ireland. Five years on, 15000 cups of Br贸 Coffee are brewed every week. The coffee is roasted in small batches under licence in Co. Down on a top of the range Loring Smart Roaster creating a smooth, yet bold flavour profile.
The Br贸 At Home brand recreates that same coffee experience at home with a great range of locally roasted coffees. We tried Br贸 Plus: a strong, smooth, & full bodied Robusta with a distinctive earthy flavour, & the double award-winning Br贸 House: a cereal aroma, with notes of malt, chocolate & plum, & a prolonged hazelnut after-taste. Smashing!
