The Gourmet Boys Present: Tuesday Goodie Bag featuring:
- The Shed, Hammonds Road
- Cú Belfast
- Tom & Ollie’s
The Shed, Hammonds Road
This was our first visit to The Shed & we were really impressed. This was originally the family farm cattle shed but it has been totally transformed. It’s also extremely popular and let’s tell you why. The ambience is lovely, the staff are friendly & attentive, & the food is local, great quality & brilliantly prepared. We had The Shed’s Beans on Toast; their own baked mixed beans in smokey tomato sauce, grilled halloumi, toasted sourdough with a poached egg on top, & the French toast with Bacon & Maple syrup. And we couldn’t resist trying a Raspberry & White Chocolate Scone-delicious!
Cú, Lisburn Road, Belfast
Located on Lisburn Road, Cú is one of Belfast’s most exciting recent openings. Describing themselves as “Always Punchin’”, the focus is on the best local produce with Mexican influences. The atmosphere is lively, & the food is terrific. Every dish was excellent, in particular, the plate of Grilled Padron Peppers with lime whipped feta, & both the Cod Cheek, & Oyster Mushroom Tacos, were delicious-especially when topped with the smoky Burnt Morita Salsa. The desserts are also fantastic, so leave some room for either the silky Chocolate Mousse or the New York Style Burnt White Chocolate Cheesecake. Or have both. La vida es demasiado corta!!
Tom & Ollie
Tom & Ollie have over 20 years of experience in sourcing, production and supply of Mediterranean Deli Foods working with a network of carefully selected growers and suppliers across Europe, Turkey & North Africa. We ordered a delicious hamper of Mezze-style goodies, & created a cheeseboard featuring Smoked Drumlin & Gubbeen from Ireland, with Spanish Manchego, & Jack’s with Cumin from The Netherlands. All accompanied by juicy Garlic & Jalapeño Olives, Aromatic Wild Garlic Crackers, Chilli, Basil & Garlic Hummus, & Spicy Tomato and Garlic Chutney, made this a gorgeous grazing board to share.
